The length of each moment varied from just a second to what felt like hours. And, every now and again, a vision would appear before her eyes.
“You be good, alright?” the soft, warm voice was accompanied with the scent of saltwater and the crashing of waves. She blinked, feeling the soft sheets of her bed underneath her fingers, and found herself gazing out of her window to the piers of Glitterport. Two figures were trailing down one of them. Yet, no matter how hard she squinted, she couldn’t make them out. Their forms were indistinguishable, even as one of them raised their hand to wave to...

She blinked.

And the air had gone humid. There was a sickly smell hanging in the wind. Damp with the stench of sweat and blood. Hot with the heat of countless flames. Towering marble buildings sat in front of her, fire pouring from windows, screams filling the air...

The moment the man. carrying a large sword and his florist friend, paced out of view, he wiggled the little orb at the top of his head. One bright flash later, he was greeted with another person walking towards him. This one was dressed in a simple leather jacket and wielded a blade that supposedly doubled as a gun— though he had yet to see it in action.

Memories.

Visions, perhaps.

The journey these folks were going on was long. Arduous. Filled with loss and pain, the likes of which he couldn’t fathom experiencing himself. Wounds that no amount of phoenix downs or mega-potions could mend.
And they worried him.
Not the ideas or emotions themselves.

THE WORLD OF LARYIA
The World of Laryia
Laryia is a fantasy world that, on first glance, does not look that different from our own. Sprawling cities, mysterious locales and discoveries that wait to be uncovered sits dotted through the land. However, what sets Laryia apart from our own is its inhabitants. Though, more accurately, a portion of them.
For a large majority of the population are Elementalists: people who are able to control one of the four key elements in the world (Earth, Wind, Fire and Water). These people are then further divided into one of three 'classes': a classification of how one uses their given gifts. For example, a Earth Warrior uses their powers over the land to enhance their own abilities, giving themselves superhuman strength and the ability to absorb blows that would fell others. While an Earth Mage specializes in attuning themselves to the world around them, causing large spikes and enormous fissures to crack the earth.
In his free time, Calvin runs his own Tabletop RPG campaign using the FATE System. The campaign takes place in a custom world designed by Calvin with input from his players. This world, Laryia, is maintained in a custom wiki that Calvin updates after every session, containing information about towns, characters, and even notes taken from a traveler about the things the players see each session.
